Me happy

The weather today totally rocks! I LOVE FALL!!! The leaves are beginning to change, the days are warm and the nights are cool. I don't even mind a rainy day here or there.

I hope the weather stays like this for the rest of the week. A little FYI, I will not be blogging for the rest of the week because I am watching some kids while the parents go to Cabo. So I want to go to the zoo and do other stuff outside with my little guys. If you want to come party with us in Oak Brook come on over.

Till next time...

Monday Night Football

I am amazed at the chaos that is happening in the Saints and Falcons game. Wow...shocking.

The real question-how did Green Day and U2 get paired up togehter for the opening introduction to the game?

Bitter Sweet

Ok, the Sox are really struggling. This is so sad. They have the potential, they just need to bring it all together.

On a brighter note: WE ARE IN FIRST PLACE IN OUR ALL GUYS YAHOO FOOTBALL POOL!!!! Oh yeah!

Things that made me smile this weekend

-being back at Moody's campus and having my mind become flooded with great memories

-the Bears victory

-God using prayer in amazing ways

-singing my lungs out to "Move Along" by All American Rejects

-spending the afternoon in Chicago with a good friend, Jon, from college

-eating chinese food

-spending time with my little brother and sister

-exciting opportunities with cupcakes

-the Amazing Race starting up again

Just when I think things are bad, there are usually good things happening at the same time that are easily ignored. Why is it that the negative is more of the focus than the positive?

Confrontation

I don't like!

It is hard to do!

How do you bring things up in a nice way?

You don't want to be mean or hurt the other parties feelings, but you might.

But in the end, confrontation is beneficial and necessary. It makes me a stronger person and able to stick up and care for myself.

Music generations

Please remind me to NEVER work a double when I need to leave my house at 5:45 ******* a.m. especially when I get home at midnight.

I heard a few oldies today. I can really get into oldies music if I am in the right mood. There are some great classics. As I heard "Build me up buttercup" today I thought about some legends like Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Barry White, and some others. And then I recalled last nights VMA amwards (sad, sad, sad).

I thought about what our kids or our grandkids would consider "oldies" music when they get to be our age. The sad realization was that they are going to have a lot of crap and inappropriate lyrics to sing too. I mean what will they be jammin' too...50 cent or Panic at the Disco (what the hell with that band) or Shakira (YUCK!!!!)???? Don't get me wrong, there is some decent stuff, but I can only think of a few that I might want these up and coming kids to listen to: Cold Play, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones...

I mean really how much worse could some of these lyrics get and the slutty (to put it nicely) videos...AHHHH
