Can I get your digits?

I will save you with the drama of the day, but my cell phone decided to stop working today and therefore I lost my entire phone book. Many numbers I do not have written down anywhere, so if you are a friend or family member who I chat with, would you be so kind to e-mail me your phone number???? cookginag1@yahoo.com

Thanks!!!!

Marie Antoinette

Today I began to chisel away at the list of movies that I posted yesterday. In case you are unaware, AMC does this great deal where before noon on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday every movie is $5. Back to the movie.

I went into the movie thinking it would be a chick flick and really I was looking for some brainless entertainment. I do admit that I do not know a whole lot about history and I am wondering if that would have helped me to understand this movie.

Questions I left with:

1. What was the point of this movie?

2. Why didn't Marie Antoinette stand up for herself?

3. Why was her mother SO involved?

4. What was the point of the first part of the movie having not a whole lot of dialogue? There was no climatic point building, all I wanted was some interactive chatting.

So instead of having this happy feeling when I was left, I was more or less a bit annoyed and confused.

Shoes

I know I have written a post before about shoes (crocs), but this time it is about Uggs. I do not think they are that bad looking, actually they look pretty comfy and warm. (I wish I could show you a picture, but I don't know how to do that) In fact, my sister who is quite fashionable for her young age, just purchased a pair this past weekend. I was totally shocked by the price and cannot figure out why they are so expensive. I mean, back 10 years ago I was way into Dr. Martin's and those cost easily $100. Uggs are more expensive. Wow! What is the attraction to them???? I have to admit, one of the babies I watch had a pair of Uggs on today, and he looked SO cute!!!!

Way side note, there are a TON of movies that I want to see. I need to catch up in the movie department. Here is my list of movies that I am looking forward to seeing, let alone the ones that look great that haven't come out: "The Last Kiss", "The Departed", "The Illusionist", "Marie Antoinette", "Running with Scissors", "The Guardian", "The Prestige", "Facing the Giants", and "The Lake House". Just a few!!!!!!!!!

Pizza

I think that pizza is one of my favorite foods and I could eat it at least 5 out of 7 days of the week. Man it is so yummy!!!!

My favorite place to order pizza is Giordano's. (There is no way I could eat this every day, I would be the size of a house.) Their stuffed pizza is just oozing with great cheese and all the flavors combined make my mouth and stomach so happy.

This is definitely the place to stop at if you have out of town guests who want some Chicago style pizza.

Girls and Sports

My dad loves sports! I remember growing up with my family having the T.V. tuned to the Bulls, Bears, Sox...(those were the dominant teams we cheered on and still do). As a young girl I jumped on the band wagon and didn't think anything of it. I can recall being in junior high rooting on the Bulls to all of their championships and celebrating their victory by the entire family jumping in our swimming pool.

It became apparent to me in highschool and college that girls were not really into following sports as I was (at least none of the ones I hung around). I saw that girls would use "watching sports" to win the favor of some guys and so I in turn would keep it quiet around them. Because for one, I was not trying to impress them because I just honestly liked football, basketball, and baseball. Also, I found out that if I talked with guys about sports they wouldn't take me seriously (not that I know a ton about it, but I do know a bit).

In the past few years my love for my favorite sports has increased. By this I mean I have dedicated more time to watching them and going to the games. For example, this past Monday the Bears were on Monday night football. What a big night, I was pumped ALL day long, I felt like I was jumping up and down on a regular basis because I was so excited. I couldn't wait until the 7:30 kick off. As I watched the pregame show the talk was about the 85 Bears and all their remarkable players. The Bears and Arizona game was fun with it being Monday night and all, but what a terrible and frustrating game to watch.

Recently I talked with some friends of mine and I was telling them about this great football pool I am in (atothegizzo rocks!!!), they were surprised. They had no idea I was so into football. That conversation made me collect my thoughts about this topic and hence write this blog.

So the bottom line is: I don't care that I am a girl and I love to watch sports and I will talk about it!

Like I've said before I enjoy trying new restaurants and this week I did just that. I was excited to go to Texas Roadhouse. I don't know about you but the server we had there was horrible. She was so unpleasant, impatient, and kind of rude. I felt like she put a damper on the entire experience and I couldn't fully enjoy my time there. I know everyone has a bad day, but as a server you want to help your guests to enjoy their evening out, not ruin it. Just because of this I do not know if I will try that restaurant again.

I can't believe I am rooting for the Detroit Tigers, what is happening to me?

With my job, I work at multiple families houses during the week. I do not stay at the same house watching the same kids for the entire week, which I love the change! When I arrived at one family's house this week I was pleasantly surprised that when they told me that their cat was dead. Call me mean, cruel...whatever, but I can't stand cats, especially that one. This thing drove me crazy, it scared me, it was viloently ill one time when I was there, and would never leave me alone. So when I was told the news, that it was dead, I was leaping up and down for job inside.

New season of the Duel (Real World/Road Rules Challenge) starts tonight! Do you think it will be like all the other seasons?

First time...

I love trying new things like: activities, restaurants, vacation spots....

I have been to Great America a bunch of times but I have never gone during Fright Fest. This theme park becomes completely decorated with spiders, tanks, ghosts, goblins, and creepy characters.

It was the perfect day to go, the weather rocked and it wasn't too crowded. I even ran into a fellow student who I taught my first year. The only thing that was a bummer was that the park wasn't open in the evening so I didn't experience the entire feeling of Fright Fest.

I love being able to have the schedule where I can enjoy these things that tickle my heart because a year ago life wasn't this way.

You've gotta try it

Two years ago I went with my Dad, sister, and little brother to an apple orchard and then went through a corn maze. The maze was huge, we divided up on teams (boys against girls). Each team had a map of the maze and there were clues on there which we had to find and once we found it our map would get hole punched. The maze took us about an hour to get through. It was a blast! The girls of course won!!!!!

Well last night I attended that corn maze again with my friends. They change the design each year, check it out. Which I can't figure out how they do it. Since we went at night, half of the corn maze was normal where we could again find our clues, but the second half was haunted. I do not like haunted things, being with a group of people made it easier and there really wasn't too many scary things. It was fun and made us laugh to see younger kids get scared. Oh, we weren't allowed to bring in flashlights-only glow in the dark attire or light up pens. So each of us had a glow in the dark necklace (which we wore on our heads) and bracelet and later we could be called "The halos" by one family.

We had an absolute blast and laughed a lot! A must do!

Have you ever heard of this?

I have heard of compose piles, my grandma would save scraps of fruits, vegetables, egg shells, anything that would break down over time in the garden and once broken down would create really healthy soil.

Tonight I was introduced to a worm box. People keep a box of worms in their house and feed the worms all the left over food and scraps, just like a compose pile. The worms eat it and poop, their poop is dirt (I never knew this). Then some people put this dirt in their garden.

I think this is weird!

Summer Lovin'

So today 2 things happened that made me think of:

1. I was watching a show on MTV called True Life. It was about twins and how there are twin functions that bring twins together from all around. On the show I saw a set of twins that I saw in Disney World. It was funny, we ran into them everywhere. They were easy to remember because they had really long hair and would put these crazy ribbons in them.

2. Then today the boys and I took a trip to the mall, one of them wanted to go to the Disney store, which I haven't been to in years. Going in I was just flooded with all kinds of great memories and stories from the family vacation to the land of Mickey Mouse.

I am ready for another vacation...where to next?
